  7. Weitek's 3167 is a 20, 25, or 33 MHz numeric coprocessor which plugs into
  8. 80386-based systems containing a 121-pin Extended Math Coprocessor (EMC)
  9. socket. This is a superset of the 80387 socket. The 3167 conforms to the IEEE
  10. format for floating point numerics and provides floating point performance
  11. comparable to a DEC VAX 8650 or three to five times that of an 80387
  12.  
  13. Microway's MW3167/80387 daughterboard was designed for systems with only an EMC
  14. socket on the motherboard. This enables the user to install both an Intel 80387
  15. and a Weitek 3167. As a result, the programmer can utilize software developed
  16. for either coprocessor on the same system
  17.  
  18. The MW3167-PS is a Micro Channel version for the IBM PS/2 Models 70 and 80. It
  19. can be configured with a 20, 25 or 33 MHz 3167 and plugs into the 32-bit Micro
  20. Channel connector. The board can be used with an Intel 80387, which is inserted
  21. in the 80387 coprocessor socket on the IBM PS/2 motherboard.
